The DadPad was developed with the NHS and gives new dads and dads-to-be the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support themselves and their partner, so that babies get the best start in life.
The Quick Read version was developed to provide a more accessible, less-text-heavy alternative to the DadPad, with more images. Great for those who learn visually, or who might struggle with the original DadPad, the Quick Read focuses in on the key topics for new parenthood.
Alongside the existing hard copy DadPad, Inspire Cornwall CIC have worked with developer partners to design and produce the DadPad app, which contains the same DadPad information as well as information on and signposting to additional support services, groups and organisations in your local area.
The DadPad Neonatal provides a great opportunity for staff on neonatal units to include, engage with and support new dads and their families. It aims to help ‘steady’ each new dad (and mum!) by familiarising him with the situation and surroundings, as well as helping him better understand the emotions that he and his partner may be experiencing, and sharing with him ways in which he can become actively involved in his baby’s care.
Aimed at providing an LGBTQI+-affirming alternative resource to DadPad, the Co-ParentPad has been developed by the team at Inspire Cornwall CIC, with support and guidance from LGBTQI+ parents and perinatal health professionals.
